Terms and conditions
ARTICLE 1: DEFINITIONS
1.1. In these general terms and conditions, the following terms shall have the following meanings
a. Event: the World Championship speedcubing, organised by Speedcubing Netherlands in 2021.
b. Participant: the natural person who has registered for participation in the Event in a manner permitted by the Organiser.
c. Agreement: the agreement of the participant’s participation in the event.
d. Organiser: the legal entity (in this case Speedcubing Nederland and the World Cube Association) with which the participant has entered into an agreement.
1.2. These general terms and conditions shall apply to each and every agreement.
ARTICLE 2: PARTICIPATION
2.1. When participating in the event, the participant must meet the conditions for registration.
2.2. The participant may participate in the event if he/she has registered correctly via MyWorlds and accepts the general terms and conditions.
2.3. The organizer of the event is at all times entitled to make changes to the date, times and program of the event.
2.4. Restitution of entry fees is not possible.
2.5. The organiser of the event may decide to cancel the event due to exceptional circumstances (force majeure).
2.6. The organiser’s decision to cancel the event does not give rise to liability for reimbursement of costs incurred by the participant in relation to the event.
ARTICLE 3: LIABILITY
3.1. Participation is at your own risk. The organiser is not liable for any damage, by whatever name, which the participant may suffer as a result of the participation. Also, the organiser is not liable for loss, theft or damage of property. Unless this damage is the direct result of intent or gross negligence attributable to the organiser. This exclusion of liability also applies to serious damages such as all possible damages resulting from injury or death.
3.2. If, despite the provisions of the first paragraph of this article, liability of the organiser for damage suffered by the participant must be assumed, the obligation of the organiser to pay compensation for such damage is limited to the amount paid by the insurer of the organiser in respect of the damage.
3.3. The participant should be adequately insured against the risk of damage that he or a surviving relative may suffer as a result of his death, injury or illness caused by his participation in the event.
3.4. The participant indemnifies the organiser against liability for damage that third parties may suffer as a result of an act or omission attributable to the participant in relation to the event. The participant should be adequately insured against the risk of liability for such damages.
3.5. The participant indemnifies the organiser against liability for damage which a third party may suffer as a result of the participant’s actions during his participation in the event, unless such damage is the direct result of an intentional act or omission or gross negligence attributable to the organiser.
ARTICLE 4: PORTRAIT RIGHT
4.1. The participant grants permission in advance to the organiser to publish photos and visual material made during or around the event, in which the participant is visible.
